Talend, an open-source software maker, has introduced an integrated solution for every type of data management project.
Talend 4.0, released today, combines data integration, data quality and master data management capabilities into a single Eclipse-based IDE. It provides a common data repository that manages application metadata, business models, business rules, transformation and validation rules, connectors, data validation, and workflows.
Fabrice Bonan and Bertrand Diard founded the company in 2005. Prior to founding Talend, Diard worked as a business unit manager at Neurones, a French system-integration firm; Bonan was director of integration practice at the same company.
“By unifying our core solutions in a single platform, we are empowering our customers to consolidate disparate projects and reinvent how they conduct data management in a way that is simply not possible with any other solution on the market,” Bonan said in a prepared statement.
Further, a new impact analysis feature enables developers to understand the impact that a data item has across applications and systems, said Yves de Montcheuil, vice president of marketing for Talend.
Other changes introduced in version 4.0 include failover clustering for Talend’s deployment environment. A single console monitors transactions in real time.
Open-source editions of Talend 4.0 are now available under the GPL license at no charge. An enterprise edition, which includes additional add-ons and services, is offered under a subscription license.
