MetaVis, which makes software for migrating to SharePoint, yesterday announced MetaVis Migration for Google Apps, a solution for migrating Google content to SharePoint or Office 365.
The tool is designed to provide an easy way for companies to move information between the two platforms, MetaVis CEO Steve Pogrebivsky said in the announcement. “The cloud is quickly becoming the content platform for business, and companies need an effective way to move information into or out of one cloud platform to another,” he added.
The solution migrates all content, including metadata tags, and the content can be organized as it is migrated, the company said. Migrator for Google Apps can convert native Google documents from Google’s format to the equivalent format in Office, as well as map users, permissions and file owner attributes when copying content, according to MetaVis. Pricing was not available.
